E-BIKES…..you have to ride it, to believe it. Incredible.
A problem with the $500-$1000 E bike on Amazon/EBay....is when something goes wrong, will you get ANY customer service to help you? Our experience with these bikes coming through the door, daily, is you will not. We are just as hard pressed to help with that. TREK & Specialized & Electra have the ability to carry over their great customer service and warranty resources so that this is not an issue. Trek and Electra have great EBikes starting in the $1200 range. Specialized EBikes are fantastically light, a joy to ride. These "in shop" brands are dramatically lighter than the online offerings, and much higher quality for close to the same price.
Top-Notch Service
Firehouse Cycles offers professional service for all brands and all kinds of bikes, and we guarantee satisfaction on every service/repair. In order to head off major repairs.
As I check the local shops in the region, we are clearly one of the cheaper places to bring your bike for repair. We do not have a "tiered" system of Tune Ups. Take a good look at what you are getting for those packages. Usually starts off at $100 for the basic, $200 for the Medium choice, and $300! for the "Works" I guess. Sorry, but if one of the "perks" of paying a $300 Tune Up is....."air".....I would feel insulted as a consumer. Rest assured, they do give you "air" at the $100 level as well.... :)
We charge you for our time and the parts. We appreciate that our customers value our time and know we are here to help them and run a business that sticks around for the long haul.
Average Tune Ups run $135-$400. But that is including many parts we replace as a normal course of action. If you start at $300.....and still need parts??? Whoa.....
We pride the shop on the repair business, if someone is doing it better, please let us know.
Bike Fitting. Yes, we do it.
The long national nightmare of "bicycle fitting" hopefully is ending. The industry markets bicycle "fitting" into profit. Ok, but do you know what size shirt you wear? Pants? It's pretty much that simple. Never been a fan of trying to tell someone "I" can fit them to a bike so that "they" will be faster, more comfortable, and sitting "correctly" on their bike. You already know how to do this. You are the only one. The dude in your cycling group with the "fit" suggestions? Ignore politely. If you sit in your car, do you adjust the seat for yourself? Yes, and the bike can be done the same way. Move the bike saddle up and down, move the saddle forward and back. Ride the bike....feel better?....stick with that. Handlebars out too far? Too low? Different stem. Done. If you have the wrong size frame, I will tell you that.
I minimize it because the industry has tried to turn us wrench monkeys into Orthopedic consultants. We are not. Dr.s are experts and attend school for a lifetime. We wanted to work :). If you have pain while cycling, see the Dr.
I fit you at no charge, to any bike you buy from us. If you don't buy a bike from us and bought it somewhere else and need help, bring it down. I will help. The bike stays overnight (longer if we are busy) and gets a "Tune Up" and the charge is $150. It's often less....let's go ride, not get caught up trying to make everything perfect.
